City officials in San Francisco are introducing the 'CAREN' Act to outlaw racially motivated 911 calls. CA - Today. Supenvisor Shamann Walton will be introducing an ordinance known as the Cauion Against Racially Exploitative Non-Emergencies (CAREN) A to amend the San Francince Police Code to making it unlawfu for an individual to fabricate false racially biased emergency reports and will be joining efforts with Assembly Member Rob Bonta of Oakland on the statewide AB 1550 bil by holding the person commiting the discriminatory 911 cal accountable. With the rise of smartphones, there has been an increase of racial profing and dacriminatory incidents recorded and shared on social media and subsequenty broadcasted on the news nationwide, Wihin the last month and a half in the Bay Area, an individual called the police on a Black man who was dancing and axercising on the street in his Alameda neighborhood and a couple caled the police on a Filipino man stenciling "Black Lives Manerin chalk in front of his own residence in San Francisco's Pacific Heights. Nationally, a woman called the police on a Black man who was bird watching in New York's Central Park while accusing him of harassing her and George Floyd was kiled in Minneapolis afer someone called the police accusing him of using counterfeit money at a store where he purchased cigarettes. These are only a few examples that have been publicized recently and there are countless others that do not get news coverage or are not recorded.

Dear Anonymous Passerby, Don't worry, you're safe now! Your act of casual cruelty was successful. The complaint you lodged with the HOA was heard. They had me take down the small treefort that I built on this location with my sons during the pandemic. No longer will its presence offend your walk) past my house. Please enjoy your stroll free from the sound of my children's play and laughter. They are safely back inside now, watching television I'm sure. Enjoy the unobstructed view of my backyard.
