Can somebody explain the ending to "Psycho Pete Returns" to me? 4 12 14 T, Share + Award BEST COMMENTS V monssavmik • 5y • We don't need these turkeys. I'm gonna go... It was a social commentary on what we do to people with mental illnesses. Instead of helping and assisting people with such illnesses, we 'ship' them off (if you will), wipe our hands clean and say they aren't our problem anymore. Those people at the end are meant to be the punchline, that being even though the gang thinks they rid their city of one psycho, someone from a different city brought their psycho here. It's a never-ending cycle and we aren't facing the root problem, which is further demonstrated by the "taxes" scene with Dennis and Dee (investing more into a football stadium than into mental institutions), and I also believe the psychologist giving pills to Dennis is also part of the message. I mean Dennis did flip out right in front of him, threatened to skin Dee and all he got were pills. That's what I got from it. 3
