To fill in the time I exercised my dog, etc. in the area around this farm. I arrived at exactly 11 a.m., found a parking spot near the beginning of the parking lot. told the staff I was leaving my dog in the car and could he keep an eye on the car as the windows were wide open for the dog. The staff proceeded shortly thereafter to tell me I was not allowed to have a dog. I was not going to take the dog out of the car. Well by this time two other staff were dictating to me that I could not have a dog on the property. I asked to speak to the owner. The staff and the owner were very rude and intimidating. The owner would not allow me to stay on the property after he told me the rules about dogs which were on their website. You would have to have really read their long legal wording to find the buried part about dogs. Never would I ever go back to this lavender farm and I suggest anyone else who entertains the thought stay away too and go to another farm where staff and owner are trained to deal politely in a respectful and considerate manner with the public. Research suggests that Lavender may be useful for treating anxiety, depression and restlessness which obviously did not work on this staff or owner. 3 Response from the owner 10 months ago This is one "1 star" review we will proudly accept! The dog owner in question was informed upon entry to our farm that as our website and marketing states we unfortunately do not allow pets on the farm due to past incidents with pets and our own farm animals. This was our first strike, the visitor in question would not accept this as a policy that had to be followed. In addition we require that no pets be left in vehicles unatttended in these extreme high temperatures and in the sun as cars can overheat extremely quickly leaving dogs or pets in a state of distress, dehydration and worse even death. Again the owner would not accept any staff direction from whom were trying to explore other options. However rather than listen to anyone including two managers and the owner who all offered to help she shouted in peoples faces, used vulgar language and much more. In the end it was clear there was no way to discuss this matter with the owner and she was instructed to leave the farm. Pet owners ourselves and with veterinarians in the family and vet students on staff we are a very pro animal farm. However we do stand firm with respect to the protection and care of our own animals and any animals that may come on the property for whatever reason. For this reason, if "1 star" is our rating we will take it proudly, but we will not let staff be verbally abused for our animal care stance!
