UBI and welfare aren't actually Communism because Communism is the collective ownership of the means of production via the state, and UBI/welfare is merely redistribution of profits, income, and wealth via progressive taxation to provide some basic level of care for the poor and vulnerable members of society. You can't just throw all social programs paid via taxation out the window by calling them "Communism" and attempt to equate it with the failure of the 20th century ... ahem Fascist governments like the USSR. ... ACKCHYUALLY "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs."
