If I remember correctly, Ian Flynn, writer for the Archie Sonic comics post issue #160 said that Big was among the strongest, if not strongest, characters in the Sonic Universe. Mighty and Great Battle Kukku from Tails Adventure. Least that was in the comics anyways, before they were canned too so oh well.
