GEN 6 7 GEN 8 The textures are the same. Gamefreak is using an effect called fresnel rim lighting, which lights up the outer area of an object, which is very transparent on all Pokemon. It's easiest seen on the Mudsdale, Butterfree and Wynaut. The rest of the graphical improvements are shaders, line removals, and resolution. All of it is accomplished through the game engine and nothing to do with individual textures. This is just for anyone saying that Gamefreak needed more time or had to prioritize other things.
