Which caracters you can expect in Jump Force. JUMP FORCE So ever since Jump Force got announced at E3 2018, people kept asking for characters like Saitama, Ash Ketchum, Inuyasha, or characters from Fairy Tail, Ranma 1/2, Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, Full Metal Alchemist, or Sword Art Online to appear in the game And that made me realize - most of you out there have no idea what this game is actually meant to be. It is not a M.U.G.E.N. style "everything goes" anime brawler, but a celebration of Weekly Shonen Jump's 5oth anniversary For those of you out there who do not know, Weekly Shonen Jump is "a weekly shonen manga antholoqy published in Japan by Shueisha under the Jump line of magazines". Many popular manga series that were later adapted into anime form were originally published in Weekl Shonen Jump, including Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, and Death Note, which were already confirmed to appear in Jump Force Being a celebration of 50 years of Weekly Shonen Jump, the game will feature characters from series that debuted as manga within this magazine This means no Pokemon anime, which was based on the Pokemon videogame by Nintendo, and not on a Manga. No Inuyasha or Ranma 1/2, since those were originally published in Weekly Shonen Sunday, one of Shonen Jump's major competitors. Similarly no Fairy Tail, which was published Attack on Titan (Bessatsu Shonen Magazine). Full Metal Alchemist was published by Gangan Comics, and Sword Art Online was based on a novel and not a manga. in another cempeting magazine, Weekly Shonen Magazine, or So which series can we expect? Wikipedia has a pretty comprehensive list of titles published in Weekly Shonen Jump right HERE u do not find a title on the above linked list, there is an overwhelming chance it will not be in the game Some people may also point out that since the game is called "Jump Force" and not "Shonen Jump Force", that titles published in other Jump Square, Saikyo Jump, Ultra Jump, Young Jump magazines, like Jump (which is where Tokyo Ghoul and One Punch Man are published) or the no longer existing Monthly Shönen Jump and Business Jump, should also be included. While it is true that from a copyright perspective there should be no problem in including these series, the general track record with past Shonen Jump crossover videogame is that titles from outside of Weekly Shonen Jump generally don't tend to get included. Now that we know that only titles based on mangas that were originally published in Weekly Shonen Jump have a chance of being included, we can proceed to further narrow down the scope In an interview for IGN, the game's producer Koji Nakajima confirmed that titles like Prince of Tennis or Food Wars will not be included, and se o represent, the word "hero" is going to be key. This generally suggests that sports, romance, slice-of-life, and similar non action genera are not going to be included, and that action series will be the primary focus. This of course still leaves us with a gray area containing slapstick series (which have often been playable in past crossover games), realistic action series where the protagonists have n spe cial abilities, romance and slice-of-life series where the characters do where the characters have supernatural ve an powers but do not use them in direct combat (like the already confirmed Death Note, or Yu-Gi-Oh!) Even with all of these limitations, we are still left with a fairly large number of franchises to draw from, so there is still plenty to be excited
