TEAM Dear Team 10 famil Watching and listening to the video that Emilio and lvan Martinez posted yesterday is just as shocking to us, as it is to all of yOU. Jake and Team 10 found Emilio and Ivan in the middle of Spain, living in an unfortunate situation. Team 10 saw incredible potential with the Martinez Twins and Jake decided to fly to Spain to meet with them. Jake was fortunate enough to stay in Spain for several days and was incredibly upset with their living situation. We took immediate action and booked their flights to Los Angeles. We were all passionate about helping them and giving them an opportunity to help themselves and their family During their first few months in Los Angeles, Jake and Nick personally paid out of their pockets for everything they needed. They quickly became two of the most adored members of Team 10 and were truly part of our family, which is why this comes as such a shock to all of us We al lived together, laughed together, and fell out together, but we always sat down and made up - like all families do. What they said in the video simply isn't true. If they had ever said anything, we would've addressed the problem like a real family does. We all took them under our wing and made sure they were always taken care of. If they had ever expressed concern, it would've been dealt with immediately...and they know that Just two weeks ago, we were all together at this year's YouTube Rewind shoot. At the shoot, there was no indication that anything was wrong. While there, Emilio and Ivan were planning videos with Jake, Erika & Tessa and everything was fine. We were all excited to have them home and we believed they were excited too For context, over the last few months, everyone in the Team 10 family called and texted both Emilio and Ivan to find out what was going on and to check in and see how they were. None of us received a response, not even those closest to them. We all knew that something was off that wasn't like them Unfortunately, due to Team 10 growing faster than we could have ever imagined, Ivan & Emilio opted to hire an external manager, Morgan Terrelle, who Jake introduced them to in an effort to get as much help and attention for the twins as possible. Jake loves the twins and wants the best for them, in spite of the fact that Morgan severely mismanaged a situation Jake was personally and negatively affected by in the past, Jake is all about second chances for people and he connected the twins with Morgan to help them both, which is why this is so painful for Jake and all of us. We have all had our eyes opened by this situation and would urge everyone in our community (and beyond) to take extreme caution if you ever consider working with a manager; make sure you speak to past clients and do your due diligence before getting involved with someone that may potentially damage your future We are all heartbroken to lose two members of our family. Jake is particularly hurt by this, he was the one that found them and put his time and resources into getting them to where they are now. We all believed in them, loved them and supported them -- having that thrown in our face is a shame and honestly, none of this feels like it's really coming from them. It doesn't add up, none of us or anyone that is close to them feels like this is something they would do which is why this is so hard to understand As difficult as this is for all of us to process and as much as social media and YouTube will be exploiting the situation and all of us for clickbait and views, we are a family and a unified team. Team 10's core value is about encouraging nothing but positivity. We will take this as a lesson and grow as a result. It is time to move on and we wish Emilio and Ivan the best Team 10 x x
