I shared this story once before during the ride but maybe this time I can convey it better. be me syoung kid just moved to America >family not very well off but we do what we do to be happy >kids at school aren't very fond of me cause I'm, "different >life sucks >One day while shopping I see a comic at the corner of my eye t's the first issue of the Sonic comic >Have no idea what a Sonic is at that point >Having saved up my petty allowance for a while I was barely able to buy it Read it >Love it >Bring it to school cause I love it that much >helped to distract from reality >made me feel like happy things would happen to me >Some kid comes up, noticing the comic >Apparently he loves Sonic and introduces me to the games >H-------- the games are so much fun >Many school days and adolescent Summers are spent as we grow to become good friends >One Summer he moves away >With it he took my love for Sonic >Dropped off the series >Years later I meet him again >holyshit.jpg we crack a few inside jokes we used to have to make sure we're talking to who we think we are >feelsgoodman >He still loves Sonic >Helps get me back into the series More fun times are had as we're reminded of how the past doesn't have to be just the past >One day I don't hear from him for a while >Find out he's been hospitalized and is dying >F--- please no >Apparently dying for quite some time but managed to hide it well enough when around me >We do our best with time we have >Some time later I'm there at his funeral >Sobbing like a bitch After the funeral I'm told there's something for me >"He wanted Anon to have this", I'm told >It's a box >Open it up >Greeted by every Sonic comic up to that point Sitting on top is the issue where they re-did the cover of the very first one >Cry like a bitch for the rest of the day Wherever you are friend, just know you're always in my memory.
