The Magician card represents using talents to accomplish goals. The Witch of Izalith used her magical skills in an attempt to recreate a flame which the world of Dark Souls revolves around. It failed miserably, of course, and from it demons were born. We encounter the Witch at the place where she and her daughters died, at the Bed of Chaos, in Dark Souls.
