vedajuno I just realized what the f--- they're trying to do with Cars 3 frog-and-toad-are-friends yes? vedajundo okay so I had a realization that.... the f------ insanity Pixar is doing with Cars 3 is almost exactly reminiscent of what they did with Monsters Inc and Toy Story Because one major element of both Toy Story 3 and Monsters University is the much more mature tone the two films take when compared to their original films This is, of course, because Pixar was attempting to update the stories to better resonate with the audiences that loved them as a kid. The same kids who were eating greasy popcorn and watching Toy Story in the theater as a kid were the exact same adults sitting in the theater crying when college-age Andy had to say goodbye to Woody and the gang for the last time. It's a clever strategy to keep original audiences engaged while also leaving the door open to younger audiences All of those six to seven year olds who watched Cars in theaters and owned Hotwheel models of all the characters are now right in the middle of their teens; and you know what appeals to teenagers more then anything? needlessly grimdark b------- jesus-lizard-journal In the grim darkness of the year Carthousand, there is only war darkness1356 Please let Cars 3 be Pixar's version of loss.jpeg
