Korra is objectively a bad series because of it's numerous flaws S01 - Mako is basically a Mary sue - the main conflict is solved off-screen - Korra gets her powers back and can enter the avatar state because she cried and Aang took pity on her. It took Aang time to learn about different chakras, and how to open them. Korra literally only cried and gets to use the avatar state at will, so there is at least some inconsistency here S02 - Unalaq's plans is basically to open both portals and get absolute power. Attacking the south pole accomplishes nothing to that plan. Not only that, attacking the homeland of the avatar is the main reason his plans failed at first, so there was no need to attack the south. At all. This plot hole is never explained - Unalaq could simply teach Korra how to go to the spirit world and open both portals at once since they are close to each other there. It would be less risky and take less time - Unalaq teaches Korra the exact same technique she uses to defeat him. Considering there was no real reason to teach her that it makes it even more stupid - after learning Unalaq's plans, and knowing he needs both portals open, instead of waiting for harmonic convergence to be over with, they go into the spirit world for no reason - having the choice of condemn the entire planet, or save one girl, Korra choses to save a girl, even knowing she would need to count with Unalaq's kindness for that to happen anyway. He is not that kind and she can't save Jinora anyway. While not necessarily a flaw, it's notable that with this, Korra caused the entire season, meaning if she had stayed in her igloo nothing would have happened at all, arguably an issue in this storytelling as she is treated as a hero - Korra loses to a guy with 1 element that just turned into an avatar. - Korra turns giant for no reason. She wasn't even the avatar at the time, so there is no real explanation as to why this happens. If tenzin did the same, would he turn giant as well? because he had enough time to do that as well. The same with Bolin and Mako - deus ex jinora Korra let the portals open. No one with a brain would do that. Spirits are dangerous, Korra just had visions of a war against spirits, and they were just attacked constantly by them on the whole season; there is nothing to gain by letting the portals open. People will probably die because of that, and this is treated as a good thing S03 - Korra tells Republic city to f--- off because she won't help anymore to undo the s--- she is responsible for. The vines and the spirits, by the way, is treated as not being her fault Tenzin states that losing the connection to the past lives is a good thing. Objectively, it's a bad thing to lose combat and life experience - airbending coming back is never really explained. The plot feels forced Airbending is inconsistent in this season. Bumi airbends without movement, and Korra is able to stop an explosion with shards flying off and everything with one simple movement. A lot of times it just seems more erful than it should be we get the most convenient villain in the show, that is able to escape prison with 2 weeks of getting airbending, with arguably no time to get used/train it. He is also able to free his friends with that power - somehow Korra and the crew are surprised how people don't want to be forced to be air nomads the people they can finally find to be air nomads were put in a danger situation because they were turn into airbenders in the first place. They basically caused problems to them, and somehow they still wants to help/follow Tenzin - Korra has the most retarded plan of the season; to take down the most dangerous terrorists on the planet herself S04 - Korra is shown as still being immature after 3 years. Even by the end of the show, she didn't mature at all; the first opportunity she gets, she disappears and makes everyone worried. Not only that, she is still looking for fights because she thinks this will somehow make her a good avatar again. It would be okay if it was the beginning/middle of the show, but when a character didn't develop at all even by the ending, that's bad writing - we are supposed to think Kuvira is evil, when she is only shown to help people during half of the season. It feels forced by the end that she was a villain at all Korra fights Kuvira just because people told her to do it. She has no arguments to confront Kuvira, as it is shown on the first time they fight. As the villain' explains why she is taking Zaofu, with very reasonable arguments, Korra cannot even raise one good point to fight her. Opal just says that "you have to fight her" and that's all we get "hey, i think you're building a bomb. Are you building a bomb?" - "no, im not building a bomb.. oh! surpris a bomb!". What the f--- was that part. It's funny, so we just ignore it anyway, but being funny to move the plot, like with Bumi in sign of bad writing a bipedal, giant mecha made of platinum. That's not even how you use platinum, but we're used to plot metal at this point, but that's too much plot metal uvir Kuvira decides to attack Republic city. While strategic ebatable', and there is 'completely retarded. All ebatable, the worst part is how she goes inside the city with her giant mecha that c hoot at kilometers of distance to punch her enemies. The eeded i send her army, or threaten to shoot again the earth nation, she just had daddy rgument is that Kuvira never wanted t ulous to think uvir s of dialogue. This dialogue, by the way, shows one more time how Korra is immature. Her e ing to Korra, anyone who dis agrees with her is wrong that a person that worked h for thr acc ave some ona ion wou make that just because father didn't love her. Korra somehow thinks this ma bes ome people point out that "ther nothing Kuvira could do". Arguably, s I had her army to fight, and anyway this ens the t of this dia ogue even happening in oW ely that there was a romance going on", but that's not the discussion Korra and Asami somehow have a romance out of nowhere. It is accepted at least that "there wasn't anything remarkable to shovw we're looking for. Earth nation was in chaos, RC was Asami now, who th be friends considering how they constantly backstabbed each other in S01 and troyed, Asami's father just tion. Not only the world was constantly needing the avatar a g very wrong h uation is by far worst than Korra, Mako and Asami in ied. The wa ould ever happen in you out after your father just died? that's how forced it feels.
