The Luigi Block

U, which looks like Mario and makes characters act like Mario when hit. The Luigi Block This block in New Super Mario Luigi U looks like Mario, and when struck, changes the game's floaty and slippery "Luigi-like" physics into the regular New Super Mario Bros. U "Mario-like" physics. By all accounts, it would make more sense to be called the Anti-Luigi Block. Q: Is that its official name? A: The block was never named by Nintendo, but its internal name is block luigi. Double standards?

When Bowser drains a Grand Star, it is considered nefarious; when New Donk City is powered by draining Power Moons, it is praised. This gives off the impression of a double standard. In the beginning of Super Mario Galaxy, Bowser is seen draining energy from a Grand Star. In Super Mario Odyssey, New Donk City is powered by draining Power Moons. Bowser's "terrible machine" New Donk's "ingenious power source" NEW DONK CITY POWER Grand Star before being drained: Grand Star after being drained: bright, shining dull, lifeless Power Moon before being drained: Power Moon after being drained: bright, shining dull, lifeless Bowser's device is treated as nefarious and evil, with Mario being tasked to break it. New Donk City's device is treated as benign and essential, with Mario being tasked to fix it. While there might be any number of reasons why the former is worse than the latter, the immediate impression this gives off is that draining the energy of cosmic artifacts is "only bad when bad guys do it".

Mario vs. Donkey Kong contains an extremely low-quality animation of Mario running. Due to the game's artstyle not being optimized for such low resolution and a lack of color, Mario is nearly unrecognizable.
