About

Momlife Comics (@momlife_comics) is a webcomic series and the Instagram page of illustrator Mary Catherine Starr, who creates humorous parenting scenarios related to motherhood, her husband and women's issues. Her characters and drawings became the subject of ironic memes and exploitables in mid-2022 on Twitter where users found her comic titled One Of The [Many] Differences Between Me & My Husband, also know as Peach Husband, cringy because it levied unwarranted criticism towards the husband for seeing a "ripe peach" and wanting a smoothie.

Online History

Mary Catherine Starr is an illustrator, cartoonist, designer and yoga enthusiast who started her blog Starr Struck in 2009, which centered on "my adventures in leading an active + yogic lifestyle, pursuing my entrepreneurial passions, navigating adulthood, and making as much time as possible to enjoy the simple things in life," according to her website's "About" section.[1] She is the mother of two children and was born in Atlanta, Georgia.

Starr began posting cartoons and content to her Instagram page momlife_comics in mid-2021. Her first Instagram[2] post was uploaded on July 14th, 2021, and received over 410 likes in one year (shown below, left). Her comics received increased engagement continuing into 2022. For instance, her most-liked Instagram[3] post was uploaded on January 19th, 2022, depicting "double standards" in parenting, the primary example being a dad getting fast food being labeled as "Fun Dad" but a mom doing it being a "Lazy Mom" (shown below, right). The carousel post received roughly 70,800 likes in seven months.

Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for you at this micro-instant for you. Hate. Hate.
