Indigo Park is a free chapter-based indie mascot horror game following the unnamed player breaking into Indigo Park, an old abandoned park they once visited before its mysterious closing, while being guided by the mysterious creature Rambley the Raccoon. The game was released on Steam in May 2024, amassing positive reviews from critics and fanbase.

History

Indigo Park[1] is a mascot horror game franchise created by independent game developer UniqueGeese[2], who announced the game with a trailer on July 17th, 2023. The video[3] (seen below) amassed over 822,000 views and 28,000 likes in a year.

The franchise's first chapter was released for free on Steam on May 18th, 2024, which currently holds a 93% positive rating, with its all-time peak amassing 2,030 players and 66,258 on Twitch.

Gameplay and Features

The game features a first-person horror experience in which the player explores the abandoned environment of Indigo Park, guided by Rambley the Raccoon, in order to restore the power of the destroyed amusement park while being chased by an unknown creature. On October 13th, 2023, @UniqueGeese posted a new trailer[4] revealing the gameplay and some of the game's features (seen below), which received roughly 991,000 views and 38,000 likes in a year.

Characters

The in-game amusement park was founded by a man named Isaac Indigo and features park characters Rambley the Raccoon, Mollie Macaw, Finley the Sea Serpent, Salem the Skunk, and Lloyd the Lion.

Online Presence

Following Indigo Park's release in May 2024, the game was met with positive reviews[5] and featured by many popular content creators such as MatPat, Kubz Scouts, CaseOh, Jazzghost, special edd, Gab Smolders, 8-BitRyan, Kenji, DanTDM, and many more that played and praised the game. For example, on May 22nd, 2024, YouTuber[6] GTLive posted a gameplay of Indigo Park, which amassed more than 1 million views and 48,000 likes in three months. (seen below)

The game quickly gained a large following of fans, sparking a series of fan art and memes about Indigo Park's mascots and characters. For example, on June 1st, 2024, X[7] user @TARU_8naRu posted a fan art inspired by the mascots (seen below, left), which amassed more than 10,000 likes and 1,300 reposts in a month. On June 10th, 2024, X[8] user @_zambeatx posted a fan art featuring the same mascots (seen below, right), which garnered roughly 2,900 likes and 434 reposts in a month.
