NEW VEGAS DEVELOPERS A company known for creating or working on all other Fallouts along with other top-quality series such as Neverwinter Night, Knights of the Old Republic 2, Icewind Dales and Baldur's Gate They are trustworthy and famed for good narrative and RPG-making A company known for creating The Elder Scrolls franchise They had no affiliation with Fallout until they bought the copyright. OBSIDIAN GAME STUDIOS e n t e r t a n m e n t STORYLINE New Vegas has an intricated storyline scheme where dozens of different endings can be obtained depending on choices done in the Wasteland Almost every location in the map is affecting the story in some ways, and in order to see all the story branches one should complete 160-170 locations multiple times Fallout 3 has a typical binary storyline where your goal is to partecipate a war between stereotypical good and evi Literally only 6 decisions in the whole game affect the story, and 4 of them are minor decisions (such as bringing the violin to a NPC), so the real decision-making of the game is down to two (who enters the chamber to die, and whether you use FEV virus or not) El F1 E1 D-E F2d F3a F3c F3d F4a E2 D4 E4F4 F4c F4d FACTIONS New Vegas has 15 factions They all have a developed story and intricated quest lines all of which alter the game's ending and story itself You can also join most of them All these factions are actually existing factions in the Fallout core and they behave just like in the lore f you wear the armor of a faction, most of the NPCs will believe you are part of them (except guards, they usually know who's who) and this leads to an intricate "faction relation" system with several tiers of relationships between you and them Fallout 3 has 2 factions The Brotherhood is portrayed typical hollywoodian "good guys" who are out to help others while the real Brotherhood was a conservative and preservative group who avoided contacts with the majority of wastelanders, their goal being collecting technology and preventing others from using it. The Enclave should have been pretty much dead at this point after the death of their president but in Fallout 3 it's still operative since apparently a computer Al has created a "president persona" and leads their base They are represented as "bad guys" who want to genocide the majority of the population ("anyone who has contracted radiation") but the Al can be somehow convinced to kill itself There is no sort of faction system in place, you just follow the default story NCR CONTENT Fallout: New Vegas has 284 quests and 184 locations The vast majority of them are story-related or affect the game in some ways; many of them contain several decisions that lead to different outcomes with endgame consequences Companions are interesting characters with peculiary behaviors spanning from the silent vengeful to the humorous The game also has some minigames such as Blackjack, slots and a card game called "Caravan There are 305 weapons that can also be modded The game has "hardcore mode" that adds needs (hunger, thirst, sleep deprivation) Fallout 3 has 100 quests and 161 locations The vast majority of them have no effect on the game or story The world is devoid of atmosphere as there is no real worldbuilding; no trade routes, no farming, no power supply and no water purification systems are active in the entire wasteland and what you do in the world doesn't matter The world simply revolves around the player just like TES games No minigames or side activities of any sort. Companions have no real depth to them, and only a couple of them have a single effect on the game There are 161 weapons, but only 40 unique skins; the remaining 121 are just the same weapons with new namelstats; no weapon mods
