Stephen Hawking Epstein Island Orgy Allegations, also known as Stephen Hawking Epstein Island Midgets Rumors, refers to discussions and rumors that the physicist Stephen Hawking went to the private island of Jeffrey Epstein sometime in 2006. In early January 2024 with documents relating to the Jeffrey Epstein Client List being released, further evidence was revealed alleging that Hawking had taken part in an orgy, reportedly involving underage girls, leading to the physicist becoming a trending topic online as many memes were made referencing him. The viral debate surrounding the topic was further fueled after a doctored document claiming that Hawking had a preference for watching midgets attempt to solve equations on chalkboards that were too high for them spread on social media.

Origin

In March 2006, well-known physicist, cosmologist and author Stephen Hawking (as well as several other scientific minds) reportedly attended a conference in the Caribbean that also included Hawking going on a submarine ride and enjoying a barbecue at Jeffrey Epstein's Caribbean island Little St James, with photos from that time showing a connection prior to Epstein's first arrest for underage solicitation (shown below).^[6]

After the arrest and death of Jeffrey Epstein in August 2019, social media users began to speculate as to people who could appear in documentation tied to Epstein, which many hoped would be released to the public after the trials. When Stephen Hawking's name appeared in some of the Epstein Files many began to speculate as to Hawking's dealings with the highly controversial figure.^[7]

For example, on March 3rd, 2021, X user @cumwizard69420^[1] uploaded a drawn image of Stephan Hawking at the infamous Epstein Island Temple, captioning the drawing as saying that Hawking was rolling up the ramp to the island and receiving 200 likes in roughly three years (shown below).

January 2024 Document Release

On January 3rd, 2024, official documents released as part of the Epstein Client List showed an email correspondence between Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in which Epstein explicitly said that he would pay for people who were able to discredit the allegations that Hawking took place in an orgy involving minors^[2] (shown below).

Following its release, the document quickly went viral online as it garnered significant coverage from the press, generated discussions on social media and also led to many people presuming that Epstein was trying to cover for Hawking.^[8]

Spread

After the email spread online in early January 2024, jokes and memes about Stephen Hawking allegedly participating in an orgy with underage girls began to spread across multiple platforms. On X / Twitter, many users were quick to post images of handicapped people either participating in sexual activities or faking being handicapped and jumping out of their wheelchairs in reference to the reports of Hawking.

For example, on January 4th, 2024, X user @JeromeH8s^[3] uploaded a video showing a wheelchair-bound man with an adult entertainer straddling his face as a surrounding crowd cheers, captioning the clip with "Stephen Hawking at the Epstein Island Orgy" and receiving over 30,800 views and 260 likes in eight hours (shown below).

Other memes relating to Hawking and the Epstein email were made by showing wheelchair-bound people either moving extremely fast or being launched through the air, with different captions alluding to it being how Hawking acted while on his way to Epstein's island.

On January 4th, X user @dogeofficialceo^[4] uploaded a GIF from The Simpsons in which Hawking's chair turns into a rocket-powered helicopter and flies away, accumulating over 64,700 views and 590 likes in nine hours (shown below).

Doctored Document About "Midgets"

While the email showing Epstein talking to Ghislaine Maxwell was real, a fake document began to circulate on January 3rd, and 4th, 2024, which claimed that a deposition took place and showed that Hawking had a preference for "watching naked midgets attempt to solve math equations on chalkboards that were too high for them."^[9]

This doctored document was uploaded by the X account @drefanzor^[10] on January 3rd with the caption "disgusting," receiving over 1.9 million views, 3,200 likes, 940 retweets and 360 replies in 20 hours, as well as a Community Note that read, "This post is false. The photo in this post is digitally altered. The account that shared this altered photo posts memes and has acknowledged the one in this post is not factual."

The edited doc was then reuploaded by X user @nakfourium^[5] on January 4th as it spread and created another wave of memes specifically about Hawking and little people (shown below).
