So I Can Wish For Anything? is a crudely drawn parody of children’s animated TV series The Fairly OddParents in which the character Timmy Turner wishes for various negative things from his fairy godparent, Cosmo.
Origin
On December 7th, 2012, Funnyjunk[1] user fistwick uploaded one of the earliest known appearances of a "So I Can Wish For Anything Edit" in a post that implies Timmy caused the September 11th, 2001 Attacks. The post gained 47 upvotes on the site.
Spread
The image appeared in a 4chan thread on April 14th, 2013.[2] On January 4th, 2014, it was uploaded to KnowYourMeme by user Edan[3] where it gained 128 upvotes and over 11,000 views. The image began being more popularly used as an exploitable in 2016, though some variations had appeared earlier. On March 12th, 2016, Facebook page Garlic Bread Memes[4] uploaded an edit with garlic bread in the fourth panel, gaining over 2,400 likes and reactions, as well as over 1,000 shares (shown below, left). On July 19th, 2016, Facebook page Crippling Things[5] uploaded an edit where the final image showed Timmy's gravestone, gaining over 7,400 likes and reactions as well as over 5,000 shares (shown below, right).
Some exploitable edits changed the characters involved in the comic. For example, on March 8th, 2015, an edit featuring Lanky Kong appeared on Facebook page Blackmin404[6] (shown below, left). Another edit posted September 16th, 2016 by Facebook page Augmentations[7] used Australian Shitposter (shown below, right).
