About
VideoEditBot refers to a Discord and Twitter bot which automatically edits videos based on requested parameters. Launched on Discord in April 2020, the bot became a popular tool for the purposes of shitposting and has been used to add various effects to viral videos for comedy purposes. On November 10th, 2020, the bot account was terminated from Twitter.
History
On April 26th, 2020, software developer GanerCodes (@GanerCodes) launched Discord[1] bot VideoEditBot which allowed to automatically edit video files by applying a variety of video effects. On June 29th, 2020, a Twitter[2] account for the bot was created, although the bot wasn't launched on the platforms until July 19th (example[3] of Twitter bot being used shown below).

In August 2020, software developer Dangered Wolf (@dangeredwolf) started contributing to the project, hosting the bot on their server[5] and designing a website[6] for the bot.
Features
On Twitter, to use the bot, user must tag the account and write the desired commands in the "filtername=value" format (for example, speed=10) separating them with commas. The list of available bot commands[4] (as of October 22th, 2020) includes 62 options, including "bottomtext," "earrape," "glitch," stutter," "deepfry," "ricecake" etc.
Traffic
Since the launch, both Discord and Twitter bot have gained significant popularity online. As of October 22nd, 2020, the Discord bot was used in over 5,000 Discord servers, while the Twitter account @VideoEditBot had over 102,000 followers.

On November 10th, 2020, @VideoEditBot account was banned[7] from Twitter for unconfirmed reasons. It was speculated[8][9] that the account was deleted due to the @VideoEditBot violating a Twitter TOS rule for curbing abusive behavior.
