Okay, but that's just them not being overtly progressive. Sexualizing women isn't necessarily a bad thing, because sex remains a large part of the human experience. Also, from what I remember, her arc was more something like "I can still be myself without expecting other people to treat me like dirt", wasn't it? Been a while since I played it.

In general l'm pretty sympathetic towards the localisation team anyway (Some of the bigotry in these games is just the point of the narrative, and it's hard to get around that), but that more is being done helps with the whole "believing the localisation team are decent people" thing. That said. I suspect even with these newer, larger changes, there will be a limit to what they can do. And also it seems like they had to fight for this??? And also also, it's important to remember that the non-localised version of the game will still have these issues. This is not "Bigotry has been defeated", it's "Persona 5 Royal will be *slightly* less painful to play through in English".

This will require a change of viewpoint on the Japanese side of things so the original product doesn't attack people for being who they are.
