Sigilo Perigoso refers to a viral video of a Brazilian teenager dancing to the song "Sigilo Perigoso" outside school in front of her classmates. The video was uploaded on TikTok in November 2021 and became the subject of parodies, ironic memes, used as an exploitable template to make fun of the teen's dance moves and the people in the background who were also replicating the dance trend.

Origin

On November 26th, 2021, Brazilian TikTok^[1] user @jhonleite05 uploaded a video (shown below) of his cousin doing the dance trend of the song "Sigilo Perigoso" by Anderson Neiff, Danilo Chatinho, Mc Laranjinha and John Johnis. The teen dances in front of her school while her classmates are shouting the music lyrics to help her, which amassed over 9 million plays and 1 million likes in two years.

The teen's expressive dance moves became the subject of memes and jokes on TikTok shortly after it went viral on the platform. For example, on December 7th, 2021, TIkTok^[2] user @momonidiamandis posted a cropped version of the teen's dance, focusing on her shadow movements (shown below, left). The video received roughly 435,000 plays and 48,000 likes in three years. On December 22nd, 2022, TikTok^[3] user @doideira_brasil posted the teen's video paired with the caption "shiuu calada," which is one of the song's lyrics. The video received more than 2 million plays and 282,000 likes in a year.

The video resurfaced in August 2023, as TikTok users started to add more lore to the teen surroundings, jokingly speculating that she is being controlled by a friend who is doing the same dance moves in the background. For instance, on August 20th, 2023, TikTok^[4] user @hituty0.0 uploaded the dance video (shown below, left) focusing on the girl in the back paired with the overlay text in Portuguese "bruxa poderosíssima é vista controlando menina ao som de Sigilo Perigoso," which translates as "Very powerful witch is seen controlling girl to the sound of Sigilo Perigoso." The post received roughly 963,000 plays and 210,000 likes in four months. On November 24th, 2023, TikTok^[5] user @memesflophistory posted a version of the clip focusing on the teen's shadow and the overlay text "Allegory of the cave." The video (shown below, right) garnered over 655,000 plays and 145,000 likes in a week.
