On October 16th, 2024, Twitter / X user @sanestsusan^[1] posted a webcomic showing a "SFW" artist holding up a Mona Lisa but getting fewer likes than an NSFW artist gets for posting their own OC (original character) depicted as a large-chested woman. The post gathered over 50,000 likes in a day.

Spread

Several X users criticized the post for being reductive and for supposedly pitting artists against each other as it spread on the platform over the following days. The post also received criticism from some for being emblematic of cyclical "drama" in the Twitter artist community.

On October 17th, 2024, X^[2] user @Lunarsunstars posted a video joking about how repetitive Twitter art discourse can be, gathering over 37,000 plays in a day.
