Skyler Bergoon (@skylarbergoon1) is the name of Kyle Rittenhouse's Girlfriend who has a TikTok account where she posts videos of herself and Rittenhouse (primarily known as the shooter involved in the 2020 Kenosha, Wisconsin Shootings), performing lip dubs and TikTok trends. Following Rittenhouse's 2021 trial and memes about him crying, his public image was largely controversial and polarizing online. As social media sites like Twitter discovered Bergoon's TikTok presence, memes and reactions surfaced about the way it portrayed Rittenhouse as a boyfriend, who many expressed was "cringe," "non-masculine" or "whipped," among other sentiments.

Online History

Skyler Bergoon started posting to TikTok in January 2022, uploading her first TikTok^[1] video on January 29th, 2022, and earning roughly 5,200 plays over the course of eight months (shown below, left). In the video, she revealed that she's from Raleigh, North Carolina. She first name-dropped Rittenhouse in a TikTok^[2] posted on February 28th, 2022, stating that she wasn't going to stop liking Kyle Rittenhouse. It's unknown if they were dating at the time of the video's upload. On June 25th, 2022, Bergoon posted a TikTok^[3] that showed Instagram DMs from a person condemning Bergoon for dating Rittenhouse (shown below, right).

The aforementioned DMs were in response to an Instagram^[4] post from Bergoon uploaded on May 30th, 2022, showing three photographs of Bergoon and Rittenhouse embracing each other (shown below). Over the course of four months, the post received roughly 1,200 likes.

Towards the end of July 2022, Bergoon started receiving attention on TikTok^[5] for being Rittenhouse's girlfriend. On August 6th, 2022, Bergoon posted a TikTok^[6] showing "candid" photographs taken by her boyfriend.

On September 2nd, 2022, Bergoon posted a TikTok that she later deleted of herself and Rittenhouse green-screened in front of a notes app entry with Rittenhouse's opinions on various topics. The TikTok received multiple Duets and Stitches. For instance, on September 2nd, 2022, TikToker^[7] finbarmac posted a duet that received roughly 4,500 plays in 10 days (shown below, left). On September 3rd, 2022, TikToker^[8] aliiscrying posted a duet with a different deleted TikTok from Bergoon, earning roughly 438,300 plays and 41,400 likes in nine days (shown below, right).

On September 3rd, 2022, Twitter^[11] user brndxix tweeted a screen-recording of his TikTok DMs in which a friend had sent them Bergoon's TikTok. Over the course of nine days, the video received roughly 1 million views and 41,200 likes (shown below).

On September 9th, 2022, Twitter^[9] user diegbro tweeted screenshots of the aforementioned TikTok, earning roughly 29,200 likes in three days. Other people levied their reactions to the discovery of Bergoon's TikTok presence. For instance, on September 9th, 2022, Twitter^[10] user iambillary tweeted a screen-recording of one of Bergoon's TikToks in which she and Rittenhouse were lip-syncing a Taylor Swift song in the car. Twitter user iambillary captioned the video, "pussy got this boy going crazy," and received roughly 56,400 likes in three days (shown below).
