One Piece Cock Edits is a series of edits made to several characters from the anime and manga series One Piece drawn to have large penises that integrate into the panel they originated from. Though the original pictures were made starting in 2020, they started to resurface again in mid-2022 as a video format and part of the macro trend surrounding The One Piece is Real meme.

Origin

On August 3rd, 2020, the Twitter artist @dhlinez^[1] uploaded a drawing of the character Whitebeard from One Piece with a large penis below his waist. This went on to serve as the inspiration piece behind the meme The One Piece Is Real that started years later in mid-2022 (shown below).

Spread

During the first bit of recognition that the photos garnered from wider social media, the picture that received the most attention was from the moment when the characters Luffy and Ace meet up for the first time in the anime series, with them exchanging hands and Ace having his lower body edited to have a penis the size of his leg. This image was posted in a thread complaining about One Piece Cock Edits on October 25th, 2021, by since-suspended Twitter user @SUPERKAI64^[2] (shown below).

As video memes of One Piece Cock Edits began to circulate in 2022, fueled by the /r/CockPiece subreddit and Discord server, an emphasis was placed on meta-contextual memes that reference One Piece Cock Edits. This can be seen in the meme tweeted on July 20th, 2022, by Twitter user @arkhansc,^[3] which features Luffy crying at a pivotal moment in the Water 7 arc, except he's sad that mom found his One Piece Cock Edits, receiving roughly 15 likes in one month (shown below).

The One Piece Is Real

The One Piece Is Real is a catchphrase shouted by the character Whitebeard in the anime series One Piece at the time of his death. The phrase became a meme spammed in comments online, as well as part of video edits featuring the character, often set to the Kanye West song "Dark Fantasy," particularly featuring the lyrics "can we get much higher."
