On October 12th, 2024, Twitter / X^[1] user @oobbbear uploaded a drawing of two people sleeping together on the bed. One of the pair feels happy and the other panics, thinking "Oh no, I'm gay." The post received over 20,000 reposts and 213,000 likes in five days (shown below).

Spread

In the days after @oobbbear's piece was posted, it grew popular on Twitter / X as a template for artists to draw various romantic ships. For example, on October 14th, 2024, Twitter / X^[2] user @hongam2911 uploaded a redraw featuring Honkai Star Rail characters Firefly and Stelle sleeping together. The post received over 2,400 reposts and 25,000 likes in three days (shown below).

On the same day, Twitter / X^[3] user @RATBQY uploaded My Hero Academia fan art of Himiko Toga and Ochako Uraraka based on @oobbbear's piece. The post received over 2,900 reposts and 30,000 likes in three days (shown below).
