On August 17th, 2023, the original meme was reposted by the Romance Reads Facebook[2] page, garnering over 14,000 shares and 90,000 reactions in a year. On August 22nd, the Taking Back Saturday Facebook[3] page posted an edit of the tweet that references emo music, garnering over 78,000 shares and 230,000 reactions in a year (shown below).
On August 23rd, Tumblr[4] user the-oddest-inkling posted the same phrase as the original tweet, garnering over 110,000 notes in a year.
On May 14th, 2024, X[5] user @IcyVert posted, "nobody understands the bond between a boy and the mediocre WR he watched when he was nine," "WR" in this case meaning "wide receiver," garnering over 30,000 likes in two months (shown below).
On May 21st, TikToker[6] @6vlz6 posted an image macro using the same phrasing over an image of Shia LaBeouf, changing the text to reference obscure PS2 games, garnering over 25,000 views in two months. On May 24th, Redditor u/hogboi16 posted a screenshot of the meme to /r/finalfantasyx,[7] garnering over 1,200 upvotes in the same span of time (shown below, left).
On June 8th, 2024, X[8] user @midwestern_ope posted a version of the meme reading, "Nobody understands the bond between a Midwest dad and this chair," garnering over 3,000 likes in a month (shown below, right).
