Miss Delight is a character from the mascot horror game Poppy Playtime Chapter 3: Deep Sleep depicted as a school anatomy teacher who was modified into a living toy, similar to the other mascots in the game. The video game was released in January 2024, with Miss Delight becoming a fan favorite character, inspiring fan art, memes and other fan content over the following months. Some pieces of fan art depict Miss Delight with two other "horror game teachers," Baldi from Baldi's Basics and Miss Circle from Fundamental Paper Education.

Origin

Miss Delight made her premiere in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3: Deep Sleep, released on January 30th, 2024.^[1] In the game, she appears as an antagonistic mascot who used to be a human anatomy teacher before being modified into something of a "living toy." She is seen in her human form throughout the game as a wooden cutout that offers messages to the player. Audio logs in the game showcase her descent into insanity and cannibalism. She uses a DIY morning star called "Barb" as a weapon.

Miss Delight became the subject of fan content following the game's release, including memes, fan art and video edits. On February 18th, 2024, TikToker^[2] @ai_anime_works posted an AI-generated video of Miss Delight growing from a young girl to an adult, garnering over 763,000 views in a month (shown below, left). On February 25th, TikToker^[3] @_monanime_ posted a meme using an animation of Miss Delight that gained over 500,000 views in the same rough span of time (shown below, right).

On March 1st, YouTuber^[8] Horror Skunx posted a video imagining Miss Delight's origins story, garnering over 2.8 million views in three weeks (shown below).

In March 2024, fan art depicting Miss Delight alongside Baldi and Miss Circle, two other prominent horror series teacher antagonists, became popularized online. For example, on March 18th, 2024, TikToker^[4] @su_2568 posted a video featuring the three characters, garnering over 4.5 million views in a week (shown below).

On March 20th and 21st, X^[5][6] users @Chatee_Cheetah and @FoxMilly22 posted a piece of fan art depicting the three and a meme depicting Baldi and Miss Circle pregnant with Miss Delight respectively, garnering over 1,400 likes and 530 likes in a week (shown below, left and right).
