Mark Zuckerberg's Home Haircut refers to a photo of Mark Zuckerberg being given a haircut by his wife Priscilla Chan during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. Posted by Zuckerberg in mid-May 2020, the photograph gained notable spread as an exploitable, particularly on Facebook.

Origin

On May 15th, 2020, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg^[1] uploaded a photograph of his wife Priscilla Chan giving him a haircut, writing, "New normal: this lockdown is officially two haircuts long." The post received more than 842,000 reactions and 48,000 shares in four days (shown below).

Spread

In the post's comment section, multiple Facebook users commented with edited versions of the photo. For example, on May 16th, 2020, Facebook^[2] user Muhammed Emin Kizilkaya posted the earliest known edit that received 25 reactions (shown below, left). Within one hour, Facebook^[3] user Safeer Abbas Warraich posted another edit that gained 29 reactions (shown below, right).

Within one hour of the original post, on May 16th Facebook^[4] meme page "Burds ARE Real" reposted the Zuckerberg's photo, with the post gaining over 900 reactions and 240 shares in four days and members of the group posting edits^[5]^[6] (Walter example shown below, left). Also on May 16th, Facebook^[7] user Nauru Nishizawa a version in which the haircut selection menu from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was edited in, gaining over 1,700 reactions and 5,300 shares in four days (shown below, right).

In the following days, more edits of the photograph were posted in multiple meme communities on Facebook. On May, 18th 2020, Facebook^[8] page Meme Asosiasi Kepentingan Adaptasi Republik posted a collection of Zuckerberg's edited photos.
