Like A Bantha refers to a scene from the second episode of the Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett where Boba Fett (played by Temuera Morrison) tries to teach a group of Tusken Raiders how to ride a speeder bike, comparing driving it to riding a bantha to relate to them. The episode containing the scene premiered on Disney+ on January 5th, 2022, and inspired comedic video edits that month.

Origin

On January 5th, 2022, the second episode of The Book of Boba Fett premiered on Disney+. At one point in the episode, Boba Fett, played by Temuera Morrison, teaches a group of Tusken raiders how to ride a speeder bike, but they do not seem to grasp the concept at first. Fett then compares riding a speeder to a bantha, a beast resembling a large ox, but it doesn't work and he gets off the bike (shown below).[1] Eventually, he teaches them how to ride the bikes later on.

Shortly after the episode aired, YouTuber spikul posted an edit of the scene on January 6th, 2022, where Boba Fett gets sniped off the bike, gaining over 170,000 views in just under two weeks (shown below).

The clip became the subject of numerous edits into the following days and weeks. For example, on January 6th, 2022, Redditor chickenspa6 posted an image macro to /r/starwarsmemes[2] using an image of Fett on the speeder from the scene, gaining over 11,400 upvotes in the same span of time (shown below).

On January 7th, YouTuber[3] omegasoka posted an ironic edit of the scene, gaining over 10,200 views in a comparable span of time (shown below, left). On January 8th, YouTuber[4] Average then posted another edit, gaining over 60,000 views in just over a week (shown below, right).

On the same date, YouTuber Yoda's Meme Den posted a video showing the scene followed by a compilation of people crashing speeders and dying, gaining over 170,000 views in a week (shown below).
