About

I've Got Over X Million Power in Rise of Kingdoms refers to a series of YouTube and TikTok advertisements for the mobile app game Rise of Kingdoms which are perceived by many to be terrible, leading to many satirical reposts and parodies. Oftentimes, the plot lines of the ROK advertisements are nonsensical, usually resulting in one character bragging about how much "power" their "settlement" has. The most notorious ad features a man who comes home from a business trip and catches his wife cheating and says, "I've Got 80 Million Power." Another notable ad features a mom who's unphased by her son scraping a stranger's car, to which she replies, "What's the Big Deal? I Have A Settlement With Over 2 Million Power." Screen recordings of the ads surfaced en masse starting in 2020 but became a larger meme in 2023, spreading to iFunny and Instagram.

Origin

On September 20th, 2018, Lilith Games published the mobile game Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade [1] which then became available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. It is similar to Clash of Clans in its gameplay. Starting in 2020, Lilith Games launched an ad campaign that started on YouTube amid monetized videos. YouTube users quickly identified the ads as strange, funny and cringy. For instance, on August 11th, 2020, YouTuber[2] Eric1120 posted a screen recording of what they titled, "Rise Of Kingdoms Terrible Ad," gaining roughly 56,300 views in three years (shown below).

Spread

Thereafter, YouTuber Eric1120 posted every Rise of Kingdoms ad they came across on YouTube, which was eventually compiled into a YouTube[3] playlist by YouTuber Hunterock99 titled, "All Rise Of Kingdoms Ads," which was last updated on May 15th, 2022. By January 2023, the playlist had amassed roughly 429,200 views across 152 videos.

Two of YouTuber Eric1120's highest-performing Rise of Kingsdoms ads were uploaded in late 2021. One video[4] was uploaded on November 6th, 2021, titled, "Rise Of Kingdoms Terrible Ad #98," and showed a jealous spouse, gaining roughly 52,000 views in one year (shown below, left). Another video[5] was posted on December 7th, 2021, titled, "Rise Of Kingdoms Terrible Ad #106," and showed an office elevator scene, gaining roughly 90,00 views in the same time period (shown below, right).

Business Trip / I've Got 80 Million Power

On November 20th, 2021, YouTuber[6] Eric1120 posted a video that showed a terrible ad for another mobile game called Figure Fantasy in which a man comes home and finds his partner cheating on him. However, instead of being angry at her, he angrily states, "Download Figure Fantasy now," among other promotional jargon. Over the course of one year, the video received roughly 82,300 views (shown below).

A few months later, on March 20th, 2022, YouTuber[7] zackabu posted a then-recent Rise of Kingdoms ad that featured identical actors in the same situation, however, the man instead says, "I've got 80 million power," and other promotional jargon while the lip-dub is slightly off. Over the course of 10 months, the video received roughly 23,000 views (shown below).

Woman: I thought you were on a business trip. I missed you…
Man: I've got 80 million power in Rise of Kingdoms, top 10 in the server!
Other man: 80 million? How'd you do that?
Woman: Listen, I…
Man: I'm also the alliance leader of the top-ranking alliance. We're recruiting now, wanna join?
Other man: Hey, bro! Can I join?
Woman: Babe, let me explain…
Man: Choose Rome when you start out and use its gathering bonus to acquire resources and train troops. The Roman infantry has a movement speed buff and a defense bonus. With this combo, it's easy to steal from other players…
