About

Invincible Title Cards Be Like… refers to a series of video edits parodying the style and execution of title cards in the 2021 animated series Invincible, which are cut into the start of every episode, usually when a character says "invincible." Parodies of the title cards first started appearing on YouTube and elsewhere online during May 2021 in the form of video edits and image macros.

Origin

On March 25th, 2021, the first episode of Invincible, titled "It's About Time," premiered on Amazon Prime. In the episode Mark Grayson says "You might as well give up, I'm --" and then the title card plays[1] (shown below). This format is followed in every subsequent episode, the title card cutting in when a character says "Invincible."

In the second episode, titled "Here Goes Nothing," the title card is back but there is blood gushing on the title card [2]. (shown below).

Throughout each episode, the title cards get bloodier, as shown by Redditor u/Guda-Go in a post to /r/Invincible[3] on April 30th, 2021 (shown below).

One of the earliest parodies of these title cards was posted to YouTube[5] on April 30th, 2021 by YouTuber King Bash, who added a bloody Invincible title card after a scene from The Simpsons, garnering over 558,000 views in two months (shown below).

Spread

In May 2021, memers began posting more parodies of Invincible's title cards to YouTube. For example, YouTuber 德原醬油店 posted one on May 11th in which he adds a title card from the show to a scene from Sam Raimi's Spider-man, garnering over 600,000 views in two months (shown below).

The trend continued over the course of the month, resulting in a number of popular videos. On May 21st, YouTuber[4] Thotti posted a version featuring the My Name Is Jeff scene and a custom title card reading "Jeff," garnering over 1.5 million views in just over a month (shown below).
