"How Dare You?" refers to a memorable quote from Greta Thunberg in which she gives a speech at the United Nations Climate Action Summit on late September 2019. The quote became viral in late September and October 2019 over YouTube when users putted her in different scenes or making parodies and is an image macro.

Origin

On September 23rd 2019, Thunberg delivered at the United Nations Climate Action Summit. During the speech, Thunberg criticized world leaders for not addressing climate change properly, asserting "You all come to us young people for hope" or "we are in the beginning of a mass extinction" (shown below). ^[1]

"You all come to us young people for hope. How dare you? You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words, and yet I'm one of the lucky ones. People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you?"
