Homelander vs. Sportacus refers to an October 2024 viral debate surrounding the imagined matchup between The Boys character Homelander and LazyTown character Sportacus in which the characters were powerscaled against each other. The majority of memes and posts related to the debate continued the earlier Everyone Beats Homelander meme by imagining Sportacus easily beating Homelander in a fight, especially if he had an apple beforehand.
Origin
On October 23rd, 2024, X[1] / Twitter user @ZenkaiM2 posted images of The Boys villain character Homelander and LazyTown character Sportacus, writing, "Who wins, Homelander or Sportacus?" starting the powerscaling debate. The post (shown below) garnered over 17.4 million views, 1,000 reposts and 8,700 likes in two days.
Spread
Later on October 23rd, 2024, X[2] user @RecklessKami made the earliest viral post contributing to the debate, quoting the post and writing, "depends. does Sportacus have an apple?" referencing Sportacus sustaining his physical abilities by eating apples and other fruit in the show. The post (shown below) received over 15,000 reposts and 297,000 likes in two days.
In the following days, multiple posts arguing that Sportacus would beat Homelander in a fight, and easily so if he had an apple beforehand, went viral on X / Twitter.
For example, on October 23rd, 2024, X[3] user @Kirbyguyzero made a post arguing in favor of Sportacus, which received over 4,500 reposts and 71,000 likes in two days (shown below).
The debate spawned memes and crossover fan art. For example, on October 24th, 2024, X[4] user @Beesseet shared an artwork of Sportacus lifting Homelander by his collar that received over 930 reposts and 6,100 likes in one day (shown below).
