Pepsi Number Fever, also known as the 349 Incident was an event held in The Philippines in 1992. During the event, PepsiCo bottlecaps would have a number on the bottom of it. Every 1PM, Channel 2 news would broadcast the winning number. The winners would receive 1 million Pesos, however, on May 25, 1992, the computer that generated the winning number actually generated a losing number as the winner. This number was 349. Thousands of Number Fever players would gather around the PepsiCo factory to claim their prizes, however, PepsiCo shut down the operation, telling everybody that it was an error, and having police guard the factory. Five people died during the May 5th incident.
