Overview
Belle Delphine and Twomad Photoshoot is a series of promo pictures of internet personality Belle Delphine and YouTuber Twomad in which they are wearing multiple costumes and teasing a potential collaboration on Delphine's OnlyFans. Upon release in late June 2022, the photos of the two received viral spread, particularly in the online creator and internet celebrity space. The images of Twomad in Donkey Kong cosplay with Delphine dressed as Peach became a controversy online shortly after their release, with some claiming they were racist.
History
On June 23rd, 2022, Belle Delphine posted the first set of photos of her and Twomad to her Twitter page,[1] while captioning it as being in a hotel room, making fans unsure if she went to visit him or if he went to the United Kingdom to visit her. The initial post received over 54,000 likes in four days while subsequently igniting a multi-day-long spell of confusion on social media (shown below).
The intense reaction caused by the online creator community fanbase to these pictures was attributed to how unlikely the pairing of Delphine and Twomad seemed to many online. Delphine is well-known for pushing the boundaries of E-Girls, while Twomad is a Canadian YouTuber known for his self-deprecating humor and how his fanbase humorously regards him as a degenerate.
Online Reaction
After the photos were tweeted on June 23rd, 2022, the reaction online was instantaneous with many commenting, sharing or discussing the situation on social media. Since Delphine's rise to prominence and the many other times she's gone viral over the years, her fanbase is often characterized by memes and posts about how they're simps, and this case was similar. Following the pictures coming out, it was immediately speculated that Delphine and Twomad purportedly did more than take pictures for the shoot. For the first few days, numerous posts were made calling Delphine's followers "simps" and them supposedly being cucked by Twomad. For example, the Twitter post by @A_GustyGal[2] on June 23rd, received over 10,000 likes in four days (shown below).
Because of the rumors of them having done more than take pictures together, every post mentioning the photos involved several people asking for "sauce," with a video that was believed to be an OnlyFans leak of their exchange taking place purportedly being circulated around. This video was then hotly debated, with many trying to draw similarities and differences between those featured and Twomad and Belle Delphine.
According to various sources with knowledge of Belle's OnlyFans upload history, the video is fake. This, however, did not deter people from posting their outrageous reactions at the thought of Twomad and Delphine being intimate, with Twitter user @GoatYeller[3] having a particularly viral reaction, getting over 98,000 likes in two days for his use of a Mr. Krabs reaction image (shown below).
Twomad Donkey Kong Costume Controversy
There was one piece of controversy that sparked from the photoshoot, which was from the second photoset. While photoset one depicted Twomad and Belle dressed as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, photoset two depicted Belle dressed as Peach with Twomad dressed as Donkey Kong, leading to accusations that the costume choice was based on racial stereotypes.
A tweet that Twomad liked, which was posted on June 23rd, 2022, helped to quickly dissipate much of the controversy, as it was easily deduced that it was an attempt at layering shock on top of shock by creating a mini-controversy as a talking point to the larger photoshoot as a whole, with the tweet by @little_jew10[5] on June 23rd, being overly satirical and tagging Keemstar as a joke, earning over 7,000 likes in four days (shown below).
Twomad's Response
Twomad himself contributed to the conversation online on June 26th, 2022, in which he tweeted[4] out a GM message while doing a victory dance in his bathroom, receiving over 10,000 likes in one day (shown below).
