Draw Your Faves Getting Cooked in Soup is an art trend on Twitter started by littl3_din0saur in March of 2023. The trend involves artists adding their characters to the pot of soup, or redrawing the scene entirely with their characters and artstyle.

Origin

The art trend started on March 29th, 2023, when Twitter user littl3_din0saur posted the following tweet (shown below) in response to the Dying In A Glue Trap meme.^[1] In the tweet, they ask "why drawing glue traps when you can draw your faves getting cooked in soup like this" and included a clip from the manga Delicious in Dungeon which shows the catgirl character Izutsumi relaxing in a pot of hot soup. The tweet received over 13,500 likes and over 3,100 retweets in over two days.

Spread

Over the following several days, multiple artists were inspired and began drawing characters in soup. For example, on March 31st, user @r0sacrose^[4] posted art of Craig Tucker from South Park, gaining over 420 retweets and 2,900 likes in three days (shown below, left). On April 1st, 2023, user @Luminoushane^[2] posted art featuring Amity Blight from The Owl House, gaining over 390 retweets and 3,000 likes in two days (shown below, center). The same day, user @kimsangie^[3] participated in the trend using a Splatoon 2 character, gaining over 530 retweets and 3,800 (shown below, right).
