On August 30th, 2017, YouTuber BlueVizor uploaded a Star Wars lightsaber duel scene dubbed with the "big mcthankies" quote (shown below).

On September 21st, 2017, Redditor thotexterminator submitted a post titled "Mcspankies" to /r/dankmemes,^[1] featuring a screen capture of Skeet captioned with a joke about dropping the soap in prison (shown below, left). Within 24 hours, the post gained over 19,600 points (84% upvoted) and 160 comments. The following day, Redditor KnurftChannel uploaded an image macro captioned with a joke about an abusive drunk father to /r/dankmemes^[2] (shown below, right).
