Aryan Classic TikTok / Save Europa Mfers

About

Aryan Classic TikTok, sometimes known as Save Europa MFers, is a genre of TikTok content that gained notoriety in 2023 for promoting overtly racist and white supremacist ideas on TikTok, often referencing fascist ideas like the Nazi Black Sun and the Great Replacement Theory. Aryan Classic TikTok also often mentions memes like Hyperborea and the 1998 Eye Chart. Parodies of Aryan Classic TikTok sometimes take the form of mocking "Save Europa MFers," and mocking the belief that light-eyed (A10) people are inherently superior to others. Some accounts promoting Aryan Classic style content use images of sculptures made by Arno Breker, the Hitler-appointed official state sculptor of the Nazi Party. In April 2023, the hashtag "Aryan Classic" was recognized as a vehicle for promoting Neo-Nazi ideas by the Global Project Against Hate And Extremism (GPAHE).

Origin

While videos promoting white supremacist ideas have made appearances on TikTok before the year 2023, some videos using Nazi Germany imagery in general, and Arno Brekker imagery in particular, can be traced to February 2023.

On February 19th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @ineedmentalhelpfr59 posted a video featuring various clips from Nazi Germany as well as a clip of a statue made by Nazi sculptor Arno Breker. The video gathered over 10,000 views and 700 likes in three months (seen below, left). On February 23rd, TikToker^[2] @havardbeistv2 posted the earliest known video to use the hashtag #aryanclassic and a sculpture by Breker, gathering over 50,000 views and 4,000 likes in three months (seen below, right).

Other early examples of people using white supremacist talking points alongside Nazi imagery were also posted in February 2023. On February 27th, 2023, TikToker^[3] @arnobrekerfade posted a video with a meme referencing the pseudoscientific 1998 Eye Chart, gathering over 130,000 plays and 13,000 likes in two months (seen below, left). Also on February 27th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @swedishnationalist7 posted a video that contained the sound from a speech by Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.

The Sun Is Black

On March 1st, 2023, TikToker^[5] @tzeentchspawn posted a video that used Nazi Black Sun imagery, gathering over 42,000 plays and 4,000 likes in two months (seen below, left). On March 27th, TikToker^[6] @unsupervizedschizoid420 posted a meme that referenced Nazi Black Sun imagery as well, gathering over 130,000 plays and 15,000 likes in a month (seen below, right). The TikToker is known for starting the Whatsapperborea trend.

On April 3rd, TikToker^[7] @suffmustlarp posted a video showing YouTuber MrBeast superimposed on a Nazi Black Sun symbol. The video gathered over 90,000 plays and 11,000 likes in a month (seen below, left). On April 14th, TikToker^[8] @pirin7makedon3 posted a similar video using a clip of YouTuber Pewdiepie saying "I thought the sun was black," gathering over 3,000 plays and 400 likes in two weeks (seen below, right).

On April 14th, 2023, the Global Project Against Hate And Extremism published an article about Neo-Nazi hashtags on TikTok, citing "Aryan Classic" as one amongst many promoting white supremacist ideas on the platform.^[9]

Parodies / Save Europa MFers

Various TikTokers began to parody and mock the aforementioned style of white supremacist content in May 2023. TikToker^[10] @clieps0 posted a video mocking the Eye Chart meme on May 3rd, 2023, gathering over 40,000 plays and 5,000 likes in five days (seen below, left). On May 8th, TikToker^[11] @jayy_6ix posted another such video, gathering over 200,000 plays and 37,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).

On May 6th, 2023, TikToker^[12] @kendricklamarlover64 posted a video mocking "Save Europa Mfers," gathering over 200,000 plays and 39,000 likes in two days (seen below, right). Also on May 6th, TikToker^[13] @randomassturk0 posted a video mocking "Save Europe MFs," gathering over 500,000 plays and 69,000 likes in two days (seen below, right).
